When Mary Haley and Carlyle first told me about their wedding venue, Cokesbury College, I was intrigued – I’d never heard of it before. And for good reason – it’s not your typical venue! Cokesbury College is a historic site in Hodges, SC (near Greenwood), built in 1854 as a masonic women’s college. The dramatic architecture and sense of history in the place is just incredible. It’s spots like these that make living in the South so interesting – little bits of the past linger here, tucked away in corners just waiting to be discovered.
From boiled peanuts and moonpies at the reception, to the dapper bowties worn by Carlyle’s groomsmen, the feel of Mary Haley and Carlyle’s wedding was undeniably Southern. And of course, I’m totally obsessed with Mary Haley’s dress – the perfect mix of dramatic and romantic.
Mary Haley and Carlyle – your wedding was so beautiful and so much fun! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it. Best wishes to the two of you in this new, exciting phase of your life!
