Remember when that picture of the bridal party running away from a photoshopped dinosaur went viral a few years ago? I used to use that as an example of the kind of photography I wouldn’t do… because it’s not photography at that point. It’s Photoshop art. No disrespect to that bride and groom or that artist; it’s just not my style to create something that wasn’t actually there on your wedding day.
HOWEVER. When your wedding venue actually has gigantic dinosaur statues, and you want to have some fun with those? Yes please.
Laura and Jason chose the Durham Museum of Life and Science as the setting for their August wedding, and every moment of their day was filled with awesomeness – from a first look in a butterfly house, to a chemical reaction unity ceremony, to a reception in the space exhibit. If you want to have a fun, interactive, and kid-friendly wedding, it’s hard to beat a science museum!
Laura and Jason- I had so much fun at your wedding, and I really appreciated that you went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and included! Thank you for letting me capture your big day, and best wishes to you two in your life as newlyweds.
Many thanks to my second shooter, EmilieCarol! Some of her work is included below. Thanks also to my husband Ryan, who got some great shots at this wedding and is more talented than he realizes. 🙂
