As a photographer, I love a good wedding venue, but there’s something extra special about backyard weddings. They’re so intimate and inviting, and of course it’s great to have a little more flexibility in your wedding day schedule, decor… the list goes on. Well, saying that Elizabeth and Jamie had a ‘backyard wedding’ might be technically true, but perhaps a little misleading. Their family friends graciously offered to host the Hubbards’ big day at their countryside home… with horses, barns, and a drop-dead gorgeous view of the mountains. It was the perfect backdrop for a rustic, southern wedding with shabby chic details and a whole lot of love.
Oh- and if you remember Elizabeth’s bridal session with Jamie’s horse, you won’t want to miss the big reveal of the photo when the couple had their first look! Jamie had no idea Elizabeth and I had made the trip up to North Carolina to secretly shoot her bridals with Coast, and the surprise on his face when he got his gift was so sweet.
Elizabeth and Jamie – thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer! Your big day was beautiful, and I want to wish you all the best in your life together.
And as always, thanks to the fabulous Laci Frazier for assisting me at this wedding! Some of her gorgeous shots are included below.
