I’ve lived in Greenville pretty much all my life, and one of my favorite things about this great city is our downtown. I’ve watched it grow from just a few old storefronts to a hustling center of business, entertainment, and awesome food. But, as Greenville grows, it remains aware, and proud, of its history. And one of the finest historical landmarks of downtown is the Westin Poinsett – which happened to be Colin and Shamel’s wedding venue. They couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate place for their elegant wedding celebration. Plus, who wouldn’t love climbing up on the roof to enjoy a beautiful nighttime view of Greenville – and, of course, capturing a few pictures under the iconic Poinsett Hotel sign. (I’ve secretly wanted to get onto the roof since I knew it was possible, and finally got my chance with these two!)
Working with Colin and Shamel was absolutely wonderful. I loved getting to meet their families, including Colin’s son, who was a junior groomsman, and Shamel’s brother, who walked her down the aisle and shared a sweet brother/sister dance with her at their reception. Their wedding was beautiful, classic, and truly joyful.
Colin and Shamel: Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your big day. The two of you went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, and I enjoyed every minute of documenting your wedding. Best wishes to you both!
